How To Treat Acne?

Treatment For Acne

Over the years, a number of products have been launched in the market by various companies to treat acne and related skin disorders. However, the sad truth is that most of these products have not been able to treat the root causes of acne.

To understand the formation of acne, you need to know that skin is made up of multiple layers. The skin cells start forming in the deep layer and travel to the top layer of the skin in around 4 weeks.

As far as acne is concerned, it is usually contained to the top layer of the skin but sometimes it also has deep roots inside the deepest layer of the skin. Most of the conventional treatments focus on only the top layer of the skin.

This means that even when they get rid of various bacteria on the top layer, the bacteria present in the deep layer of the skin start spreading and start forming pimples on the top layer of the skin.

Another problem with conventional treatments is that most of them use harsh chemicals that actually worsen the skin condition instead of preventing acne breakouts. Most of the conventional treatments contain various ingredients such as alcohol and peroxide.

These harmful ingredients get rid of all the oily substance present in the skin. However, skin starts producing more oily substance to keep the skin cells moisturized and this reaction sometimes lead to more acne.

Also, many of the chemicals present in these conventional products change the pH value of the skin and prevent it from fighting harmful bacteria. These chemicals are also sometimes absorbed in the bloodstream that leads to further health complications.

Argan Oil For Treatment Of Acne Scars

Regular use of argan oil should get rid of all the acne on the face but it usually leaves behind some scars that take some time to heal. These scars lead to skin discoloration that does not look good. Regular application of argan oil on the scars eases the look of scars on the facial skin.

The essential fatty acids and vitamin E present in the argan oil helps in easing the appearance of these acne scars. Ideally, one should get rid of these scars within a few weeks of regular application of argan oil.

Argan Oil For Acne Scars

Argan oil is rich in antioxidants, vitamins E and various other beneficial nutrients. It is used in a number of skin care products. It has also been found to be highly effective for treatment of acne scars. It also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that help in getting rid of bacteria and skin inflammation.

Regular application of acne oil on the affected areas helps in getting rid of acne scars on a permanent basis provided one takes care to prevent any acne flare-ups.

Antioxidants help in getting rid of free radicals inside the body. These free radicals help in cell oxidation that lead to various problems including premature ageing of the skin leading to dry patches.

The presence of high levels of vitamin E in the argan oil helps in keeping body free of free radicals. It also decreases the skin inflammation that is the result of acne.

Oleic Acid

This helps in regulation of sebum production by the sebaceous glands. In the acne sufferer has dry skin, argan oil can help in production of more natural oil by the sebaceous glands that won’t clog the skin pores. On the other hand, this acid can also help in keeping excess production of sebum at bay in the oily skin.

Linoleic Acid

Argan oil is also rich in linoleic acid that helps in getting rid of dead skin cells. Dead skin cells are also one of the causes of acne and this acid is an essential fatty acid that helps in getting rid of these dead skin cells thereby preventing acne flare-ups.

How To Use Argan Oil?

First of all, you need to wash your hands thoroughly using a mild soap. If you clean your face with dirty hands, it will be a waste of argan oil as oil will trap the dirt on the hands inside the skin pores on the face and that may lead to acne flare-up.

Therefore, it is extremely important to clean your hands before application of this oil on the face. Slightly warm up the oil before application though it is not necessary.

Take just 2 to 3 drops of the oil onto the palms and rub it gently onto the face in circular motions on the affected areas. Since this oil is readily absorbed by the skin, you should not feel any oil on your skin within a few minutes of the application of the oil.

Ideally, it should be applied on a daily basis twice, once in the morning and once in the evening. As far as the usage of this oil is concerned, it is recommended to use it continuously for a period of 3 to 4 weeks. Within this period, the acne scars should start healing.

It is not recommended to stop using argan oil as it has many other benefits that keep the skin healthy and glowing. It is also important to keep in mind that you should use argan oil in addition to a cleansing routine.
